Families of African American Students United for Excellence and Equity (FUSE) and the Glenbard Parent Series will host a special event and luncheon on Saturday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. in the library at Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
VaLarie Humphrey is a college retention specialist who prepares, inspires and motivates students to overcome feelings of negative self worth and meet the demands of college and career. Val has a way of uplifting and empowering youth as she shares the struggles of her own young life.
Join us and learn about her journey from college “flunk out” to award winning school principal. Humphrey will share her transformation of overcoming a mindset of entitlement, to a mindset of employment and to one of a successful entrepreneur. Humphrey travels the country changing lives in a multitude of ways, sharing tools to build confidence and resilience even in those who others have given up on.
