GPS: Good News About Bad Behavior at 9:30am & Why Don't Kids Do What You Want at 7pm

The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families has organized two presentations with investigative journalist Katherine Reynolds Lewis, author of “The Good News About Bad Behavior: Why Kids Are Less Disciplined Than Ever and What to Do About It” on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Why Won’t Kids Do What You Want will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 12 at Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd in Glen Ellyn
Yelling can be harmful and timeouts/ grounding may not improve behavior. Teens and children seem to have lost the ability to regulate their behavior and emotions. Our time-honored methods of punishments and rewards haven’t taught discipline — they’ve undermined it.
Drawing on the latest research on play, technology, and failure, Katherine Reynolds will share a new model of discipline for a new generation and outline a fresh theory to address the root causes of misbehavior.
