The Glenbard Parent Series: (GPS) Navigating Healthy Families is proud to host the film screening premier of the new documentary “The R Word: The Power of Words and the Power of Love” with filmmaker Amanda Lukoff at presentations on Tuesday March 3 and Wednesday, March 4.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at Glenbard West, 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn join us as we view this award winning documentary and hear from Lukoff, the film’s director, executive producer, and writer .

Lukoff grew up advocating for her sister Gabrielle, especially whenever she heard the word “retard.” In her powerful film Lukoff unravels the history and lasting effects of this ugly label through the lens of her sibling experience.
